/ The Slades protections
The Slades 3 x 2 protection pack protects the knees, elbows, and wrists in case of impact while roller skating. Wearing a helmet in addition to the protection pack is recommended.
Knee and elbow pads are worn with the shell facing outward, with no distinction between right and left. Wrist guards are worn with the protective shell at the palms of the hands. When properly fitted, the logo on the strap should be on the top side of the hand.
Warning, wearing protective gear helps reduce the severity of injuries related to a fall, but does not guarantee their complete absence.
Just like our Slades and Flaneurz skates, the protective gear was not designed for hockey, skateparks, or other aggressive quad roller practices.
/ The choice of size
To determine your size, get a measuring tape or a piece of string and a standard ruler. Then measure your knees, elbows, and wrists as shown in the diagram.
Then refer to the size guide below to choose the size that suits you. If you are unsure between 2 sizes, we recommend opting for the larger size, as the protections are elastic and the straps are adjustable.
Note: The measurements provided correspond to the product's measurements. We recommend choosing the size that is closest to your own measurements.

/ IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SAFETY
- Do not modify the design of the protective gear at the risk of impacting its safety (for example: adding stickers, accessories, paints…)
- Check for any damage (e.g., deformation, cracks, condition of the straps...) to the protective equipment before each use.
- Replace the protections in case of a fall or severe impact.
- Clean the covers with soapy water and a soft cloth. Some cleaning products may damage the covers.
- Air dry the protections after each use and store them in a cool, dry place.
- Changes in ambient conditions (e.g., temperature...) can significantly reduce the performance of the protective device.
- Controlling your speed, wearing protective gear is not always enough to prevent injuries.
- The lifespan of the protections is 2 years.
/ THE STANDARD EN 14120
The Slades protections comply with the EN 14120:2003+A1 2007 standard. This European standard specifies requirements and testing methods regarding ergonomics, safety, comfort, retention system, durability, abrasion, and shock performance of protective devices for wrists, palms, knees, and elbows (hereinafter referred to as "protective devices") intended for all users of roller sports equipment.
The Slades protections are certified Class C and Level 1. Class C pertains to the protection of users weighing between 50 kg and 100 kg. Level 1 pertains to the protection for normal use in roller sports.
