How to unclip?

Clipping and unclipping your new Flaneurz becomes easy after a few attempts that may seem tedious. It's a necessary step. Here are our tips to make this break-in phase easier. Soon, like all our users, you'll be clipping in just a few seconds.

The following steps must be performed with your feet in the shoes.

position roller 1
1. Stand your roller upright.
position roller 2
2. Insert the unlock key into the hole at the back of the chassis.
position roller 3
3. Apply vertical pressure on the unlock key with the palm of your hand.
position roller 4
4. Train the rolling part downwards.
position roller 5
5. Rotate the rolling part from left to right to release the front hook.
position roller 6
6. Remove the unlock key.

/How to clip

position roller clips 1
1. Hold onto a pole or a wall. Place the rolling part on the ground. Secure it by blocking the outer rear wheel with your supporting foot. Position your clip-in foot above your rolling part so that your front housing comes above the front hook. When the hook is in its housing, shift your body weight onto your toes.
position roller clips 2
2. Slide the shoe back as far as possible by lifting the heel off the rolling part. To do this, pivot your heel from left to right.
position roller clips 3
3. Now, the front hook is properly inserted into its housing. Place the heel on the chassis. Feel around to align the rear housing with the hooks. You are ready to clip. If step 2 is not fully completed, then step 3 cannot be performed.
position roller clips 4
4. When the rear housing is on the hooks, apply pressure with your body weight until you hear a "click" that confirms the attachment system is securely locked.
position roller clips 5
5. Lock the rear wheel with your first clipped foot and then repeat steps 1 to 4. Clipping in the second foot requires a bit more practice, which is why we recommend starting with the foot you are least comfortable with.
position roller clips 6
6. To ensure that the clip is perfectly successful, shift your weight onto your heel while making movements from left to right.

/ Usage Tips

How to unclip

This product is suitable for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skaters. For beginners, a few lessons may be helpful to master the most basic skating techniques, such as braking phases, gentle slopes, safely handling falls, and managing turns.

Roller skating is not recommended for individuals with conditions that may affect their mobility and physical reflexes.

For maximum safety, equip yourself with protective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards)

Upon receipt and before each use of your detachable rollers, check that:

/ The trucks should be well secured

(Iconic: 14mm socket wrench or open-end wrench

Premium: tightening nut (17mm flat wrench)

locking screw for the clamping nut (4mm Allen key)

keys provided in your Roll Line tool kit)

The wheels should be properly tightened

(Iconic / Premium: 13mm socket wrench)

/ The front stops should be well tightened

(Iconic / Premium: 5mm Allen key included in your Roll Line tool kit)

Thus, you can skate with complete confidence.

Avoid steep slopes that make it more difficult to control your speed and may reduce your ability to brake.

Avoid wet and/or snowy sidewalks and roads, ice patches, fuel or oil spills, driveways covered with large stones, gravel, sand, and any other surface where the grip between the wheel and the ground may be compromised. These surfaces affect your braking and are harmful to your bearings.

Avoid skating near roads and cars; prefer designated pedestrian pathways.

Look around you as much as possible and stay alert. Be careful of pedestrians while skating and make sure you can stop whenever necessary. Sudden or poorly controlled braking can lead to breakage situations not covered by the warranty.

Find out about the legislation in force in the country where you are skating, governing the practice of roller skating. Flaneurz cannot be held responsible for legal issues related to the practice of roller skating.

Shoes

Make sure that the fastening systems (Velcro and/or laces) specific to the shoes are in good condition. Replace them if necessary. The outsole (in contact with the ground or chassis) is reworked to adapt to the fastening constraints of the chassis.

Make sure that nothing interferes with the contact between the sole and the rolling part for optimal attachment (gravel stuck in the sole, in the housings, chewing gum, clumps of tar). If necessary, use the unlocking key to scrape off impurities, and clean the sole with a damp cloth.

Cleanliness: clean the shoe using, for example, a stiff brush or a damp cloth to wipe the outer part. Let your shoes air dry as often as possible. Do not put them in the washing machine or the dryer.

Avoid placing the product near a heat source that is too high (such as a radiator or a fireplace) as it could damage the materials of the shoe during a too-rapid drying process.

/ Front stops and plugs

To extend the lifespan of your front bumpers and plugs, rotate them regularly so they wear evenly.

/ Wheels and bearings

The wheels wear unevenly depending on your skating. It is recommended to switch their positions on your trucks to increase their longevity. Check for any chips or flat spots on the wheels to maintain your skating comfort.

The bearings need regular cleaning and should be replaced if you skate very often. Check your equipment every 5 to 10 outings. Skating in the rain damages the bearings, and we advise against doing it.

/ System & chassis

The mechanical system (rear hooks) should neither be oiled nor greased (products like WD40). These greasy products will clump dirt together, which will clog the system and cause it to jam. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth to remove dust, or with a dusting spray.

The chassis does not require specific attention. You can clean it with a soft, damp cloth. The grip can be maintained with a stiff brush and a small amount of soapy water.
