UNDERSTANDING THE FLANEURZ MECHANISM  

You currently enjoy the freedom of movement offered by the Flaneurz system: choosing to walk or roll at your leisure. To address some of your questions, we've decided to break down the components of the system to help you uncover the mysteries of Flaneurz roller anatomy.

 

/THE SHOE 

You have found the perfect shoes to combine style and daily activities. Whether your shoe comes from our Collections offers Custom, we transform the sole by integrating two mechanical components that make up the 'female' part of the system.

 

Housing before

This is the cavity that, during the clipping process, receives the front hook. This part, secured with rivets, consists of a sealing shell and a stainless steel component..

Rear housing

Similar to the front housing, it holds the two rear hooks, allowing the rolling part to be locked onto the shoe. A rubber is glued around the edge of this housing, helping to reduce the clicking noise that may occur when the system contacts a rough surface.. 

Note: The front housing is not covered with this rubber. Indeed, based on your valuable feedback and the constant evolution of the product, we have removed it.

 

/THE CHASSIS 

The 'male' mechanical system found on your chassis works in synergy with the previously described 'female' mechanical system. This is where the shoe will attach.

​ the clipping phaseThis metal part, located at the front of the rear system, acts as a guide during the clipping phase. Shaped like a point, it protrudes over the system. It inserts into the rear housing of the shoe first, ensuring the shoe is aligned correctly for a successful clip. It also secures the shoe's attachment to the chassis along the longitudinal axis, preventing the system from unlocking in the event of a frontal impact. 

 

Back hooks

There are two of them, and they allow the final locking between the rolling part and the shoe. Withstanding the vertical pressure from your body, they fit into the rear female housing integrated into the sole. You're all set, now it's time to roll!.

 

/The Anatomy of the Rolling Part 

The rolling part is made up of several components.

 

Plate

The plate is the skeleton of the rolling part. It supports the chassis above and all the components related to the wheels below. At the front, it has threading that allows for the attachment of a stopper. Additionally, it is shaped to accommodate the mounting of the two trucks (see below).

 

Chassis

As previously mentioned, it integrates the 'male' part of the Flaneurz mechanical system. It is fixed onto the plate. Assembled at the Factory, it is made of three recycled ABS plates. The chassis is covered with grip, reminiscent of the aesthetics of skateboard decks. 

 

Trucks

 They are the metal components that allow for the installation of the wheels. Two trucks equip each plate, with each one holding two wheels.. 

Cushions

  Also called Cushions, the rubber parts are inserted into the central part of the trucks. Their hardness, shape, and color vary depending on the serie of rolling parts which equip your Flaneurz. Additionally, thanks to the nut they are equipped with, they are adjustable: the more they are compressed, the stiffer the roller will be; conversely, you can opt for a lighter tightening to achieve a smoother maneuverability.

Wheels and bearings

There are many different types of wheels, with various shapes, hardnesses, colors, and diameters, including indoor and outdoor wheels. Flaneurz offers four types of wheels. (First, Krypto Impulse, Roll Line Helium et Glitter.) Each wheel houses two bearings in its center, separated by a spacer specific to each wheel..

 

Toe Stop

It is an essential accessory for quad rollers. The front stopper can come in various shapes and vary in hardness. Often used by derby players or rink hockey players, it allows them to make strong pushes. It can also be used as a brake in a hockey stop position.
