As you discovered in the first part of this report, Each member of the Flaneurz team has a personal story with the world of roller skating or gliding. Whether it's for daily commuting or occasionally, for dancing or riding around the city, Flaneurz's removable skates tell our story.
/ROLLER “ALL DAY LONG” - LES FLANEURZ AU QUOTIDIEN
You regularly ask us if the members of the Team are equipped with Flaneurz, and if we all have different uses for our removable rollers. Florian and Walid, two of the co-founders of the brand, clip in every day..
Florian / Co-fondateur :
Roller dancer, Florian has replaced all his fixed sneakers with Flaneurz. As the first tester of the Flaneurz mechanical system, he collects models of removable rollers.
“ I spend my days on roller skates. Whether it's for my urban commutes six times a week, my roller dance training, or during performances, I do everything in Flaneurz.” Today, Florian has seven models in his collection of transformed shoes: “ I have three pairs of Nike Jordans (models 1, 9, and 10), the Doc Martens Cavendish et Newton Black et la capsule Reebok x Flaneurz. Each shoe has a different function. I use my pair of Jordan 9 for appearances because they are very stylish, my Doc Martens for professional meetings, and my pair of Jordan 10 for everyday wear. It is by far the most comfortable in my collection.. ”
Florian takes care of his removable rollers. We ask him for his advice on maintaining his shoes and rolling parts: “ What wears out the Flaneurz the most is walking without ever clipping the rolling part. Since I skate every day, I wear the soles less. Then, I make sure not to skate in water because I don't want any splashes on my shoes. Finally, I clean the bearings, wheels, and plate every two months or so. I also use some plugs that I change every month because I wear them out very quickly in roller dance. It's a consumable in my practice. ”
Florian is equipped with an iconic rolling part created for Doc Martens. He appreciates this setup for its lightness. However, he prefers the Premium range for everyday use: “ I chose the black Blaster turntable and the roues Helium White. I keep this initial setup because the wheels are hard enough to be responsive for dancing and fast enough for urban commuting. They adapt to all my activities. Plus, I find them very aesthetically pleasing.. ”

Walid / Co-fondateur :
Like Florian, Walid is an experienced and recognized skater. He is one of the team members who arrive every morning at SkateLab on removable roller skates..
“ My first pair was a prototype, a pair of’Adidas Mutombo on a Premium rolling part that I skate on in the video “ Make It Real, become a flaneurz! ”. It was in 2015 and I was part of the brand's beta testers. Today, I alternate between several models: my pairs of Jordan 1 Flight 3 and 5 , a pair d’OTH et une Converse Aero Jam. In a client meeting, I have my pair of Doc Martens Cavendish. During the pop-up shops, I prefer a Adidas Top Ten. I also have a pair of Nike Huarache that I use every day. I like to have options, depending on my moods, my activities... “
Rediscovering the sensations of his first skates with the Premium range, the most technical we offer. However, Walid chose to equip his rolling part with different wheels: “ The plates we use are standard. Therefore, it is possible to put on the wheel models we want. I chose the iconic wheels. Krypto CR62. They are more suited to the way I use them. Today, I practice urban mobility and skatepark riding from time to time. ”. Walid is a fan of sneakers and roller skates, and we ask him which model of removable roller skates he prefers. After a moment of reflection, he tells us that his Converse Aero Jam is the most technical and offers the best support. “With my Flaneurz, I also have shoes for style. /TIME SAVINGS AND HEALTH - THE FLANEURZ AS A MEANS OF URBAN TRANSPORTATION
If they don't use them every day, Arnaud and Laurie clip on their removable rollerblades to save time on their daily commutes while engaging in regular physical activity..
Arnaud / Co-founder :
Arnaud is a sports enthusiast. Between two climbing routes, you can find him wearing Flaneurz on his feet..
“ I prefer skating when I think I can save time compared to public transport. When I clip my rolling part, it’s to tease drivers and cyclists and show that I can move as quickly as they can! “In terms of equipment, Arnaud has tested all the ranges of wheels offered on the e-shop : “ Les Kryptos Impulse are very comfortable but I find them a bit too soft for my practice. I exert more and lose energy. roues Roll Line are very technical and efficient but they absorb less of the ground's irregularities. I chose the wheels of the First range. Arnaud has several pairs of clip-on shoes for his Iconic rolling part. After his Nike Huarache Flight Force 3 and his Veja V-10 Extra White Nautico for the nice days, he is already planning his next Change Your Shoes Collection : “ I am going to customize a Nike Air Force One via l’interface Nike ID. When I skate, I make wide movements; I need to feel safe. Over long distances, I tend to worry less about the bumps in the road; ankle support is essential for my next pair of removable roller skates. ”

Laurie / Digital Marketing and Customer Relations :
Using removable roller skates since her first pair of Heelys in the early 2000s, Laurie now rolls in Flaneurz to stroll through the streets of Paris..
“ I immediately realized the time that the Flaneurz would save me. Between the subway and work, or two meeting places, I clip my rolling part several times a week. ” She also notes the benefits of roller skating on her health. “ I chose the Iconic range because it meets all my expectations. Johanna / Communication Manager
If Johanna knows how to communicate about our removable rollers and showcase them in everyday life, her practice is still timid. However, alongside the Team members and during Flaneurz events, you can find her with rollers on her feet..
“ I put on my first pair when the release of the collaboration Veja x Flaneurz. Recently, I did my first Change your Shoes on the occasion of the collaboration Reebok x Flaneurz. I loved the Aztrek model and chose it in a different color. Having worked a lot on these two lovely projects, I was very eager to wear them. I find the Reebok Aztrek more comfortable for everyday use. The Veja V-10 Extra White Nautico, as for her, has very stiff leather that holds my foot well “. If roller skating is not her sport of choice, Johanna selects her different models of Flaneurz for their fashion and aesthetic appeal. For her, the technicality of the shoe is not the primary criterion for selection..
Initially equipped with an Iconic rolling part, Johanna tested the First range at its launch on our e-shop: “In June 2018, we launched this new range. With a larger wheelbase (the distance between the two front wheels and the two rear wheels), I feel much more comfortable. I’m ready to get back to roller skating with my new plate as soon as the nice weather arrives!””

Mathieu / Event Planning:
A few months ago, Mathieu joined the team. Used to the ski slopes, he has been trying his hand more at roller skating since his arrival..
“ I'vefirst chosen a Prêt-à-Rouler Custom with a pair of Vans Sk8-Hi. I wanted a pair of removable, versatile skates that provide good ankle support. I equipped myself with an Iconic rolling part because I am neither an expert nor a true beginner. We take the opportunity of this new article to introduce you to the newest member of the team, Ambre. She joins the adventure as a graphic designer. While she doesn’t yet have a pair of detachable skates, it won’t be long before she does: “ I did artistic roller skating for several years. Having grown accustomed to skating in boot-style skates, I can already imagine myself with a pair of Veja equipped with the system Flaneurz mechanics. In addition to loving the brand's ethics, I really like the design.
