It all starts with an idea: being able to clip a rolling part onto any shoe. The rolling part is removable to walk and roll as you like. In order to do this, we have developed and patented a mechanical system. You can stroll without limits thanks to our savoir-faire. Discover the Flaneurz production.

 

/MANUFACTURING WORKSHOP

Since august 2020, the Flânerie (our premises) is located in Seine-Saint-Denis, in Pantin close to Paris. It includes our store, our offices but especially our manufacturing workshop.

Flaneurz Team works on a daily basis to offer a product that meets your expectations. All detachables roller skates are handmade, one by one. Six machines and two hours  are required for their production: 

/Rolling part assembly: 20 minutes
/Chassis creation: 15 minutes
/Shoe transformation: 45 minutes
/Quality test and packaging: 20 minutes

This last part is fundamental. The system is meticulously tested by our team to ensure your safety while you are on the move, and a smooth clip-on and clip-off system.

The Flaneurz production requires precision. Processes evolve thanks to our Clique (customers) feedback. Your opinion is our first evolution source.

/FLANEURZ SYSTEM

Three R&D years and seven prototypes were necessary for the creation of Flaneurz mechanical patent. Even today, continual improvement is at the heart of our approach.

We are perfecting our savoir-faire around this mechanical interface. Our expertise also extends to the shoe transformation. The “male” mechanical system on your chassis and the “female” mechanical system in your sole are composed of more than 30 parts designed in France. 

Approved by our podiatry and shoemaking partners, Flaneurz production also leads us to collaborate with quality service providers such as:

/SHOE TRANSFORMATION

We are often asked if it would be possible to offer a “Do It Yourself” kit to transform the shoes yourself. It is not possible because the sole modification requires specialized work and specific machines.

Pre-positioning the “female” mechanical parts, transforming the shoes, then inserting the system is a time-consuming step. Each shoe is unique, requiring a specific treatment. For example, there may be a difference between the left and right shoe for the same pair.

This is why not all shoes are compatible with Flaneurz fabrication. As a reminder, the processing conditions are as follows: 

/New shoes (unworn outdoor)
/Flat sole made of rubber material
/Size must be between 35 and 46 ⅔ (European size)
/Minimum sole thickness: 7,0 mm in the front, 13,0 mm in the back
/Maximum sole thickness: 32 mm in the back
/Sole's bump must not exceed 5mm depth with the ground contact area
/Shoe tongue must be able to allow access to the shoes internal front part
/Size must be between 35 and 46 2/3 (European size).

The main reason we only accept new shoes is for hygiene. Indeed, our teams handle your shoes for 50 minutes. Moreover, we cannot take the risk of working on a sole that has already started to get damaged.
